Never Reaching the End

Post by 68degrees » December 14th, 2014, 11:40 pm

I heard she grew up
to marry a short glass
of milk kind of guy,
but back then
she was in my arms:
pink tulip skin
and edible ear lobes;
she would rub her curls
against my neck, lap
small beads of sweat
from my shoulder
with that precise tip
of her tongue;
when words failed us,
we spoke only in vowels:

ahh, you
ohh, you

From that point in time
I understood when
the Moody Blues crooned
from a darkened dash,
“Nights in White Satin”

Of course when I was first listening to 'knights in white satin'

never reaching the end....I was tripping on LSD

those lyrics had real meaning to me in the psychedelic sense.

now that meaning never reaches the end.

Have always had a soft spot in my heart for the poet / lyricist. Like to mess around with song lines sometimes. Thanks for reading and commenting.
