only poets

Post by revolutionR » January 1st, 2015, 12:52 am

there are only poets
and then there are people
poets are people too
but people are not poets
that some people are poets
does not count, does not matter
poets are people, but people
are not poets, some people are

let me say it again
there are only poets, and then
there are people, most people
are not poets, people are people
but not poets, a people cannot be
a poet, but a poet can be a people
poets exist among the people

they are a different kind
some people try to be poets
and some poets try to be people
but poets are not people people
poets are people too, but not
people people, poet poet
poets and people, people and poets

only a poet would understand
the difference, that is why they are
a poet at all, it's not like a people
can become a poet, you are either
are or you are not, a poet exists
and that is all there is too it
people can only gape at a poet
a poet does not gape a people
and only a poet can say what that is
now get out of my line of vision

what is this thing about saying
that a poet is a poet, let's not argue
or dissemble over the most unspoken
thing, it is too sensitive an issue
the connection can and will be broken
there is nothing to be said for it
it can and will be token of the poet's word
a poet lives by the word, not by what
people think, or do, even when a person
would be a poet, a word to the people
but people are not poets, only poets are

I really liked this too. You make your point concrete all through the beginning - poets would read this, people would say TL;DR. Then that "now get out of my line of vision" - what a wonderful line, and then the dismount. *Really* enjoyed this.
