A long thread here. I can't address all that but I was thinking as I read your poem that the late Dino---Contantine Pantazonis---would have liked this too.
Also you address some of the nonsense that I have recently seen on another poetry forum.
I like this particularly too
funny how the word "museum"
has the word muse in it
not your kind of poet

Re: not your kind of poet
Wrote this after checking out that other site.
"Dino", was a heck of a poet, but I never really got on his wavelength.
maybe because his stuff was regional, I'm out there in California.
I guess him and I were coming from different necks of the woods.
I liked a lot of his poetry, but I was not interested in joining his gang,
metaphorically speaking. I can admire another poet, without interacting
with them. reminds me of a poet that is located in San Fransisco by the
name of Jack Hirschman. For years he called himself a Communist, now
I guess he calls himself an Internationalist.Whatever! Jack was poet
laureate some years ago. I admire his body of work, and his translations
but I never tried to communicate with him. I saw him read several times
and one day my poet mentor friend and I were up in S.F at City Lights books
and he walked up, and kind of poked fun at us "acidhead poets" He is still alive.

Re: not your kind of poet
And to think I wrote this before I went on that other site
I knew what would happen, but I was a little taken back
by just how unfair the management is on there. its ok
to attack people under the guise of "critique" they can dish
it out, but you cannot defend yourself, from their attacks
it reminds me of school yard bullies, they want to chop you
down, but if you stand up to them they cower behind their
control panel. It also reminds me of what is happening
with law enforcement, I mean I always had to watch out for the man
but now they are picking off people one by one, of course the most
vulnerable ones get the worst of it, black, brown, poor whites, ect
Ever have a cop stick a gun in your head, and dare you to move?
I have.

Re: not your kind of poet
No really, what is the management so afraid of?
that he will look bad to the other bullies?
When I was on the Deoxy site, I started the "poets of chaos" thread
I was interacting with all kinds of people on there, the whole idea
that "critique" is somehow helpful, when you pry a poem apart
and attack its parts, instead of seeing the whole, the whole process
the poet goes through, I might not be that wowed by somebodies poem
but I would never tare it apart and attack it, by some kind of anal
English language cross-examination. It does not help the poet, it
is only for the attacker to feel like they are in control, William Burroughs
his whole thing was to expose "control" Control is the opposite of poetry.
I am not really into trying to ferret out somebodies "meaning" to their
poem, that is for them to either make the case or just let the images
play across the space. In the end, if you tare everything apart, it really
is a way to negate the poet.As if they are somehow reprehensible for
having the gaul to speak their minds. I think those tare apart people
feel powerless in their own lives, so they get off on playing academic God.
