Hallowed ground

With the light
I see the way;
I keep the fight
Upon each day.
I sense the cold;
Inside my heart;
I know my soul
Will not be torn apart.
I find this strength
Though I long to leave;
I stand the length
With the tide that be.
And with the hope
I stand this hallowed ground;
Learning to cope
With the growing sound.
And above me the stars align
But not yet with my own
And the night birds sing
Whilst the demon haunts this restless soul.
