By morning
By morning these lines will be
forgotten, like the bare boughs
and the flaming fire that sent
gypsy embers into the heaven
of your eyes.
The wolfing wind that raised
the eaves will have hushed into a
songbirds breath,
as sweet as the linnet's song.
But still those midnight words
remain folded.
Only written upon the cool side of
my pillow,
where strange tears dry.
forgotten, like the bare boughs
and the flaming fire that sent
gypsy embers into the heaven
of your eyes.
The wolfing wind that raised
the eaves will have hushed into a
songbirds breath,
as sweet as the linnet's song.
But still those midnight words
remain folded.
Only written upon the cool side of
my pillow,
where strange tears dry.
Re: By morning
very nice..I like the whole poem, but in my mind the first stanza can stand on its own
in any case, nice work...welcome to S8

reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

Re: By morning
Always remembered are the words that are written in stone and here they are. Very beautiful.
And above me the stars align
But not yet with my own
And the night birds sing
Whilst the demon haunts this restless soul.
