witness at my door

Post by saw » April 26th, 2015, 9:02 pm

there's this fire in my thorax
been simmering on lowdown
long as I have memories
it can flare to blowtorch at times,
the longing for justice aches
like a rotten tooth when there are
no cloves to be had anywhere in the county

picasso, klee, alvin ailey, beethoven
surround the pockets of jack
the ripper's coat, even in a field
of red tulips I see bloody necks, bodies lying
in the gutter at the bus stop alongside the trash,
now you are here today on my front porch
to hand me pamphlets to open my eyes

I don't want to talk about jehovah right now
you're pissing me off.... 'cause you don't know
a fucking thing about me other than this wild notion
that I need some saving from something you have imagined
like a child scolding his imaginary friend
for slurping down his cup of tea, and I just finished
watching the morning news, so this is really a bad time

to talk about the supernatural with me, i'm sorry
i wasted your time, you are dressed very nicely
and you've been more than polite to me, and I know
you are being sincere, but can't you see those bodies,
don't they trump pearly temples, and infinite space
at the feet of blind faith where I might sit
and feel wonderful, can't you help me with the corpses this morning
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

This is a good expression of your emotions. People preach about religion but fail to see the bodies of the innocent lying upon the ground due to so much hatred, so much pain, so much hunger. So yes I agree, preach not to me the woes of the world for I do what I can, the question is now what does the preachers do to combat the woes of the physical world. Spirituality is all well and good and all but what about being human a good human. Is humanity lost while spirituality is sought. I see this each and everyday. It sickens me. So yes saw I agree in complete. Very well said, I love the emotion you put into your work.

Jess
And above me the stars align
But not yet with my own
And the night birds sing
Whilst the demon haunts this restless soul.
