Transcendance

Post by Traveller13 » April 15th, 2005, 2:36 pm

The desert. A ridiculously enormous barrier rises in front of you but this insurmountable castle of cards won't resist long to this mysterious pressure that we call hope. On the other side is the gigantic abyss that everyone feels but that nobody can see.
At the edge of the abyss is a tree, the Tree of Life, solitary amongst the almost infinite quantity of grains of sand. Approach this tree caress it's bark feel this lifeforce that you only felt inside yourself before.
A person approaches but you can't see because your eyes are blindbolded by all the compassion you bear for the human species. You feel a dagger deliciously penetrating your back and you escape through the split, leaving your miserable physical and emotional body wither in the sun, now empty of all form of useful sub-stance. Your new form is identical, but less present, less substantial. From the physical body only the face is conserved, unerasable signature from the ancient times. Now you can see through the blindfold and you recognise an ally who you have always known but that you had decided to forget for the benefit of humanity. The ally shows you the edge of the abyss with what seems to be a finger, but is almost immaterial and prolongates itself into infinity. Not paying attention to this telescopical disproportion you go to the edge of the abyss where nacreous fumes that seem animated with a lifeform of their own arise, and disperse into bluish curls of smoke in order to make one with the sky.
A cold-devoid breath pulls you inside. While you descend slowly, the walls look at you with a busy but disinterested glance. But there is no point in holding it against them, they are far to busy in being walls.
The more you approach altitude zero, the more the walls fade away, until they become inexistant. The fumes penetrate the whole of your being and you feel your body fading away like a universe that just started existing.
The bottom. Finally.
In front of you is a strange entity that looks like an octopus. It's size is imposing but it's eyes reflect a surnatural wisdom and intelligence. It's tentacles don't have suckers but 144000 human faces instead.
The human animal from the depths turns around and shows you yours.
That is when your neck opens in half, and you smile while the substance of your soul invades the entire universe.
And while you are everywhere and nowhere at the same time, your eyes meeting your eyes, you remember...
