The flare
She fell to the frozen wasteland
From pain and anguish in her soul
Nightmares flowed generously
Giving her the dark to compliment the cold.
In silence her tears were a waterfall
In the presence of others a fake smile awaited
And as she fell to the dark and frozen wasteland
She gave in to the silence of her screaming heart.
All the years of unspoken words
All the years of the invisible face
All the years of the flaring regret
Too much to bare alone.
She never once gave up the fight
Though her heart desired to fall
She keeps it even now
Hope of forgiveness hidden in the nightmare.
From pain and anguish in her soul
Nightmares flowed generously
Giving her the dark to compliment the cold.
In silence her tears were a waterfall
In the presence of others a fake smile awaited
And as she fell to the dark and frozen wasteland
She gave in to the silence of her screaming heart.
All the years of unspoken words
All the years of the invisible face
All the years of the flaring regret
Too much to bare alone.
She never once gave up the fight
Though her heart desired to fall
She keeps it even now
Hope of forgiveness hidden in the nightmare.
And above me the stars align
But not yet with my own
And the night birds sing
Whilst the demon haunts this restless soul.

Re: The flare
this seems to be pointing at the thing but not calling it what it is.
just seems lazy
you tell a doctor "it hurts when i do this" and he says "don't do that"
what, exactly, is the pain and anguish?
name THAT and let's all dance honestly

Re: The flare
poetry is a great way to acknowledge our triumphs...when disciplined enough to orchestrate the skirmishes into a piece of work to be shared on line, we are inadvertently forced to own whatever has happened to us...poetry is art..... and therapy at times

Re: The flare
a mothers worst fear
No matter how hard we try
The days turn to years
With all the tears we hide.
And in my tattered heart
Maybe I am what they say
Useless in the form of art
With all the passing days.
Thanks everyone for your comments.
