The Watchmen's Walls

Post by Brian mclaughlin » February 9th, 2016, 8:09 pm

within their walls I am handcuffed
my heart feels imprisoned
when I share that which my heart speaks
I am chatised by the watchmen
I foolishly ask myself
if there is any point in continuing
but that is what they want
submission
but if my words go unsaid
it could leave another without hope
When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed. But when we are silent, we are still afraid. So it is better to speak. ~ Audre Lorde
