Precompressed Helical Spring

I was overdue, tormented
by my lack of discipline
to do all the things that are required of me
paralyzed by the invasions
that come worrying about little green men
with $$$ signs on their foreheads,
the gas and electric man says it's time
to transfuse my blood, the water man
says to get on my knees if I want a clean drink,
the taxman has eight elastic arms
to wrap me up in servitude, they are all
troublemakers of one kind or another
stalkers with criminal records, their sick
fuck minds oozing artificial intelligence,
and I am only an account number, and
a birth date, nameless in all meaningful ways
a jelly bean to be counted and stuffed in a jar
by some candy loving CPA, a tiny taste added
to the toxic array of sweets I knew nothing about
as a child playing with toys, which is why
I long for my Slinky
I want to get high and watch it descend the stairs
I want to forget about the bastardization
of the modern old man,... Slinky, oh Slinky
take me away from here, help me smile
at the whimsy of a walking spring that does little else

Money slinks down the stairs we turn it free at the top and watch each grub take a bite then slither off just out of reach ,this fact seems to make sense in a decomposing kind of way .What can be done but to sit back and play some music to the night.
The poem is ready to go right out of the box, so true ,the same critter for every generation understood .
