These clouds ...

Post by the mingo » July 20th, 2016, 5:21 am

sitting in front of windows
watching clouds pass
is one of the things
that people do

it's what i'm doing right now

the river is out there too
and road
and trees all green

all i've ever needed
is a piece of imagination
& something for that imagination
to work on

like today
this moment
these passing clouds
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

sadly, many folks never get there, never slow down enough to see, hear, feel the pace of the earth nor its relationship to man...and it's no ones fault...the chasing of the buck can suck the life from you without you even noticing....it's a fortunate man that learns the serenity of watching clouds.... 8) 8)

Part of me is serene - part of me is restless as hell - double-dipper all my life 8)

It floats by, or it hangs still
depending on the speed of thought

I'd meant to add my $0.02 to this when it was posted, but forgot.

I'm always bemused by the people I meet on the hiking trails. Here they come, passing through the closest thing we have to wilderness around here, wearing earbuds. Plugged into synthetic music, deaf to the music around them - deaf to the breezes rustling the canopy, the calls of birds and the denizens of still waters, and the melody of running water itself... They don't realize they're only getting part of the outdoor experience. It requires total sensory immersion, otherwise it's like a Mozart symphony without the string section. IMMHO, anyway.

yes, that also drives me crazy seeing that in the woods...and in the city it's so dangerous when you can't hear the sounds of an automobile or a mugger....muggers actually target folks with earbuds...but back to the woods....why would you not want to experience your time in nature to the fullest extent...there is peace there just waiting for your immersion ... 8)

And there are others
That all they can do
Is watch the clouds go by
My guess is that all of the animals
Forming in the sky
Has them enchanted
With what most people cannot see

The clouds are angels
Spiritual puffs of smoke
Maybe
I do not know what clouds are at all
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
