which side of the plate

Post by saw » September 4th, 2016, 11:35 am

I've been trained
to be obedient
follow the commandments
drink the approved cocktails
feel comfortable inside the walls
of taboo, the steel-reinforced
concreteness of bubble gum,
the music approved by moguls
what's wrong with you ?....I've heard that
a lot, your house isn't normal
your dining room has a stand up bass
where your china cabinet should go,
where is the leaf to enlarge the dining table
Whoa, Wait a minute there is no table
just a 100 w Fender amp and some morocco's
sitting out of place, can't you put them
in the basement, i mean really, bongos
tambourines, where is your centerpiece ?
Everyone has a centerpiece.,,,....they do ?
well then, I guess mine is my personal truth
centered in the passion that extends
beyond silverware, and which side of the plate
have a nice day
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Had to laugh, there are guitars on the dining room table amps on the floor, keyboard in the window alcove harmonicas and such about, the little one uses pots and pans to drum on, my studio has an old beat up electric guitar torn down spread across the floor for rebuilding . The music is just stuff made up over the years. Mobiles made from feathers and fishing weights hang from the ceiling lamps , a big collection of toys for a two year old scattered about .A big roll of paper is situated to go across one end of the dining room table opposite the instruments and water paints pens and crayons are at hand for the never ending drawing. As you can see I can relate to the other side of the plate, enjoyed!

No centerpiece, what kind of barbarian are you?

Apart from the dog hair, my little hovel is decorated with stack upon stack of 2nd hand books, several hundred vinyl LPs, turntable, 6-tray CD player, cassette deck, tuner, & four old RR tape decks (one of which works, sort of). Much of my furniture is homemade - and I'm no woodworker. And the worst of it is....

I'm OK with it all.

Fuck convention.
