You Must Color Within Their Lines

Post by Brian mclaughlin » September 7th, 2016, 4:06 pm

Intellectuals
These educated fools
Put creativeness
Outside their rules

They've no respect
For heart and soul
Beyond their taste
You pay the toll

They'll criticize
With condesention
Until you write
With apprehension

Then they serve
The ridicule
To make you think
That you're the fool

One thing is sure
They have no heart
So remember that
Before you start

Don't bow to them
Ignore their swords
Just be yourself
And pen your words
When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed. But when we are silent, we are still afraid. So it is better to speak. ~ Audre Lorde

Thats It, Art is free expression , this seems to be forgotten sometimes by those who want to find ways to control art , In the deeper reality those who wish control are really afraid of real art as it demands to be free and will in time inspire freedom of expression .Art is how we imagine the world to become what we would dream for it . Deep true art that comes up out of the experiences of living will have a power about it that will not be denied. Often it will expose those who simply wish to dominate and subjugate .Write on!

The pen IS mightier than the sword. I believe that.

Except on someone else's Poetry site when they feel like hitting the Ban Button ;)
