dark days ahead

Post by revolutionR » October 29th, 2016, 10:24 pm

dark days ahead dark days behind
the neon nights of the modern poet
arrived in the middle of an explosion
of questioning just what poetry is for
this is a way of saying that poetry was
no longer something out there
but was now poetry writing itself
for itself through the poet for the poet

poetry really did not get its momentum
until the surrealists gave it new life
by acknowledging its sources in certain
previous fellow travelers, and injecting into
its concepts a fluid view of language
and what the real purpose of that is

these poets are not trying to render grandeur
to some external ideal, but rather attempting
to take down that ideal from its pedestal on high
and show it for the false idol it is
as in Nietzsche's Twilight of the Idols

these poets will write from the view of the street
not from the balcony of the elect who look down
on us, poetry had to break free from its straight
jacket, from its rigid method of seeing words
as mere tools to extol some profane vanity

the new poet wanted to know why there is so much
insanity in the people that pretend to be our confessors
a professor that tries to teach us from stale text books
our philosophy, the new poet finds philosophy
in the words they wrote in the modern neon night
a few strange phrases that mean nothing
but what the words themselves know
the true emotional content

The first step was to break through,
to break the mechanized conscription,
of thought, language, body, soul, mind.
There were signs for awhile, until buried
under a materialistic avalanche...

Religions are like a filter but they filer us backwards, i use this as an example
to what the meaning of a breakthrough would represent, what I mean to say is
that materialism holds no hope for the soul development, in so far as the
message of the Buddha is that we are not mere material but we are spirit
religion tells us this because it cannot speak of the omnipotent with out it
but then we are run through a kind of obstacle course of do's and don'ts
instead of being given the essence behind all the dogma and doctrine.
Materialism is just the other side of the coin, when mankind gets fed up
with the double talk of one they try the double talk of the other, poetry is
like the middle path, but discovers it through language, which when it is
turned around and allowed to come through its natural source, by using
a technique of standing everything up and turning it up side down, or turning
it inside out, we came begin to see how we have been programed.

If we could only see the light from the beginning, without all the subterfuge
but the subterfuge has been going on for thousands of years, but there has
always been poets and mystics and the like who have resisted the program.
