the poet is vessel

I don't know if what I write makes sense
in some ways I don't try to make sense
I leave that to those who have the tell us
what is supposed to make sense
like churches and kings
and weird statues with wings
to me only art makes sense
words only make sense to me
when they don't make it
in so far as what we are told to believe
you know what I mean

actually some philosophers
make a lot of sense to me
I read a lot of Nietzsche
because I liked his mustasch
and his, Thus Spake holy man
come down from the holy mountain

but philosophy takes up a lot of space
and for every book a philosopher writes
there are lots of other books about that
did it start with Plato
and can we ever forget the allegory of the cave
but then can we forget what Plato said about poets

no so it's not really my purpose to make sense
since nothing in this world makes much sense
in spite of all the people whose job is to make it
I just write as I see it because I am looking for
something other, and it makes some off sense to
other poets or anybody who happens to read
what I pour from my imagination, that's my cents too
