the myth of words and the poet

Post by revolutionR » January 16th, 2017, 6:13 pm

a poet was a different creature
in the years before the internet
we were things of libraries
and cafes with our coffee of very black
like the night when stars could get through

the poet is a creature of myth of the myth of words
he moves through layers of history like a human flame
like a golden ghost made of pure language
he wanders through alleys of Rome or Paris
and they dare us to tell it like it is
wandering through Kerouac alley
and there is always a light at the end
there are poets on the other side
those who have gone before

he wanders through the museum of the mind
like a tiny figure in a hollow mountain
inside the earth, like an alien cathedral
with crystal alters of mother nature
and water falls of her songs

the poet is not a saint not quite
but he listens to mother gaia's songs
and remembers some words when the amnesia clears
he hears her voice through the ages healing the earth

I think the poet kind of just sees underneath words, and tends to arrange them a little differently.

Really is that all it is, wow and here I thought all these years
that it had to do with reading forbidden books and turning yourself inside out
and walking down strange alleys looking for arcane knowledge, how stupid of me. 8)

Yes, all or parts of that. All part of how you begin to see underneath words, past them, through and around them. All part of how your internal radar begins to pick up the inadequacies and mendacity of programmed speech or rigid forms...

Sadly even thought there is mountains of information on the internet, so people can educate themselves on what is really going on, most of these people have been distracted, and they never were taught on how to think. When I began writing and reading poetry, I was one pointed about that, it also involved reading a lot of books, reading about philosophy was a kind of crash course on what was really going on, but it was a slow process. What I mean is that I did not know much about the real powers behind history, I felt it, but I had no idea just how nefarious it really was. Consider the truth of the Federal reserve bank. Or consider that I instantly knew that 9/11 was an inside job on that day, but how many Americans believed what the mainstream media reported, what they were told that it was terrorists with box cutters. I think people are starting to awaken, and are now seeing that the mainstream media IS the fake news. Maybe.

I hope so. I think there might be an overall growing awareness of Corporate Newsfail in general in the last decade or so, yet at the same time it almost seems like no one really cares that much-- not when we have our devices and apps, our multi-bazillion dollar professional sports marketing behemoths, all of our shiny toys to dazzle us. I mean, who even knew that we sent troops back into Iraq recently? I dunno...

I guess writing poetry is kinda like starting a rumor that there is intelligent life in the universe..... 8)
