Do we really care about the eclipse?

I'm glad I went to work that day
and didn't try to skip out with
those funny glasses.

Who cares about an eclipse,
and a skinny one at that,
with all this work to do?

even wonderful things can be ruined in this corporate world
the hype and advertising were such a turnoff, I went to the woods
a small worm snake crawled over to my boot to say hello
it was perfect
