plain language

Post by saw » March 2nd, 2018, 11:04 am

sometimes I wonder
if it's really possible for a man to mix
a brand new color solely in his head
and how might he transpose that to canvas

I wonder too if art can be transferred
only through two eyes looking back
at two other eyes where nothing
needed to be spoken

could an arched eyebrow or a wrinkled nose
tell you all you need to know, could one
wield their brush across the synapses
of stretched cranial paper with the power of a dream

or the pace of a mustang
neon hoofs on the ceiling pounding out the rhythm
hides of crimsonesque, manes of flowing blue electricity
ah yes ....the wisdom of psychedelia

are these flashbacks ?,..this ancient text floating above ?
There is no rhetoric in the sky far as I can see
the clouds say more than enough for me
in plain language

yet still this mind.... I have little control over,
keeps turning the paintings end over end, and I
can't help but see a new world each time the images are rotated...
can anyone ever really claim...that picture... is upside down
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

all we can do, i think
is give the mustang its lead
and go where it chooses to take us...
i've penned stories that wrote themselves
they went their own way
not mine
happens like that sometimes
oh well
maybe we're just channeling some cosmic wisdom
coming through us from someplace else.............

... dig me an Erie Canal right thru the middle of my brain channeling some of that cosmic wisdom I expect Ol' Basho to come beating his way thru the drifts to bang on my door and say: "Hey did you see that poem saw wrote today?"
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

yeah dig it sasha
my poetry seems to be
one quarter me
three quarters cosmos
and so it goes
a humble traveler
from earth meets
his more powerful doppelganger
from the other side

got my shovel and post-hole digger ready mingo
to mine your brain for nuggets from the infinite past
the search for gems compounded by all the forces
from all the poets and writers summoning a summit
not sure about that "saw" guy tho.... 8) 8) 8)
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
