UPSTREAM of consciousness

Post by saw » March 18th, 2018, 9:20 am

brevity
is not my muscle
who am I tell my lifeblood
not to flow
and what good would it do...
blood and truth
flow with equal force

am i to cut short the migration
of salmon against all odds, tell
so many swimmers to speed it up.
let's get on with things, or should I
throw away my watch and cell phone
open my camp chair
plop down in the magic of idle

wait
watch the sky
write
til every ounce
of whitewater
has sudsided
tell my story despite the number of letters

take the time I need...
I dig your concise lips
dig your way of boiling down the maple syrup
you and I are magnetic fishing poles
you love and I LOVE, you cry and I CRY
neither of us can claim artistic superiority
nor would we want to
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
