“They’ll get over it,” he said
I’m not a religious person
but sometimes I can visualize the
people who will end up in hell,
if there were such a place,
and when I envision them,
I hope that place exists

I know what you mean doreen
Rump has upstaged McConnell
to become the dirtiest Rat in "government "
but we can't forget what a heinous monster he really is
My fantasy is big men looking like ICE agents
pulls up wearing black balaclavas on the 17th hole
in an armored golf cart and he is disapperared
But sadly, that would only be one ogre gone
and a Maga army left to run things.....I do see
how non religious people might be dreaming of hell

If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

a catalyst is a substance
that facilitates a chemical reaction
without being changed by it -
like in your car
whose exhaust passes through a platinum grate -
where electrons get switched around
and carbon monoxide becomes carbon dioxide & free oxygen
while the platinum stays the same.....
well...
DJT is a catalyst, too -
by himself just a playground bully
a pathetic little man with no "there" -
but for reasons unknown
he attracts the toxins among us
inciting them to action
inspiring cruelty & violence
without soiling his own hands -
setting off a chain reaction
that will continue even after
he's KFC'd & McD'd himself
into a well-deserved heart attack...
and god forbid
that a latter-day booth or oswald
steps on that cockroach
and elevates it to sainthood.....

yes I have a nice vision of magas

sailing a fiery pit of burning sulfur

I'd rather learn from one bird how to sing than teach 10,000 stars how not to dance.

Re: “They’ll get over it,” he said
I’ve been spending a lot of time on Substack lately reading and watching video conversations with independent journalists.
https://open.substack.com/pub/usaf8187/ ... medium=ios
Mitch McConnell said “they’ll get over it” when asked about the huge cuts to Medicaid. Recently, Senator Joni Ernst said “We’re all going to die” when someone at a town hall meeting stated that people will die from the Medicaid cuts.
These people are truly deplorable human beings. Lacking any empathy or compassion, if there was a hell, that’s where they belong.
Thx to all for reading my poem and for your supportive comments. I really appreciate it. I think it’s time to start writing again. For that, I will need to return to computer use. I’ve been using my IPhone exclusively for several years (other than my part-time graphics work). I only use a computer for that. I need a real keyboard to get back to writing. Luckily I have a MacBook and a desktop Mac.

"Hell" is powerful.
In church when I was young,
"hell" scared the the hell outta me.
Then I picked up a copy of James Joyce's
"Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man" from a
sidewalk two weeks ago and turned to a random
page, where James was describing "hell," and oh
my goodness his take was 2 pages of unrelenting
crushing descriptions in paragraph after paragraph
trying to jail the reader in his endless evocations of
the eternal torture and stench of that place, which I
suppose he intended.

His writing really blew me away. If he wrote stuff like that in "Portrait," I can't imagine trying to get through "Finnegan's Wake". It was truly disturbing. And baffling.

I couldn’t finish Portrait of the Artist or Ulysses. I tried, I swear. He’s very difficult to read, well at least for me anyway. I DO love his extremely poetic line “and yes I said yes I will yes!” The famous final line of Ulysses. Or something close to that.., I memorized it long ago. I just looked it up… this IS some pretty darn beautiful writing
I’d actually like to recite that.., maybe put some piano music with it…Molly Bloom's closing soliloquy
...and Gibraltar as a girl where I was a Flower of the mountain yes when I put the rose in my hair like the Andalusian girls used or shall I wear a red yes and how he kissed me under the Moorish wall and I thought well as well him as another and then I asked him with my eyes to ask again yes and then he asked me would I yes to say yes my mountain flower and first I put my arms around him yes and drew him down to me so he could feel my breasts all perfume yes and his heart was going like mad and yes I said yes I will Yes.

Love that
Re: “They’ll get over it,” he said
I respect all of the literary giants and geniuses, but I confess that sometimes I wish they'd get to the point. And yes, that includes you Mark Twain.
