Drought in the desert.
I heard someone on the radio
claim it as I drove thru
the desert years ago.

There's not enough water!
And I still wonder now, like I
wondered then, if it was
pure human conceit.

kind of like when we get a deluge in the rain forest.

Natural places and natural expectations. I can't believe how we overbuilt in the desert. "We'll figure out the water problem later," we said. Is it expansionist human conceit?
