myopic onlookers disparage the clouds
so hooked on sunshine they miss the balance,
the cosmic equation's other expression,
and so it is, and so it has always been,
when the farmer smiles, the parade frowns
the death of empathy is the birth of barbarism

I'm kinda guilty of that, living under 9-10 months of dull gray every year in the Pac NW for so long...
