The Sacred Naked Greed

Post by mnaz » July 15th, 2026, 3:16 am

I've met Communist survivors.
Even dated one of them.
They're new to the game.
Fervently Capitalist.
Profit is Godliness.
More for everyone.
Yet greed is good,
the peak of morality,
said a lady named Rand.

I guess you gotta cut these neo-mega-hyper-Capitalists trying to take over the world and strip what remains of its resources some slack, but don't expect me to worship them.

ethical egoism
maintains only your self interest
is valid
altruism is a no no
we must resist
this hateful nonsense
they keep repeating
empathy is a weakness
some even claim
suffering builds character
these positions are perverse
we must awaken the sleeping giant
that is the real america
the death of empathy is the birth of barbarism

That's the question.
What/who IS the real America?
The real citizens/stewards of Earth
under Religion of the Almighty Buck?

Am I not positive enough? Too angry? Too "left?"
"Unwilling to join," as my 1st grade teacher said?
Don't I realize we can buy our way to salvation?
To power and spiritual fulfillment?...

the real America is still here
hiding among the trees
painting rainbows
and singing songs
our dreams still lift
to the sky
but we are the quiet people
the shouting and shooting
are drowning us out
I'd rather learn from one bird how to sing than teach 10,000 stars how not to dance.
