writing techniques

Post by Doreen Peri » August 2nd, 2005, 10:57 pm

I've been working
on my writing techniques.

I've recently
realized the importance
of simile and metaphor.

My pen is an enemy.
I am a war on a blank page.

It's like... umm... it's like...
ummm... something or other
that's similar to that.

I'm getting the brevity thing down so well
I only write three or four lines a month.

Both times I've read this doreen, I've laffed my ass off...I mean, it's really funny at the end, that last line.....

I just really like this.
It makes me feel the same way that Thurber makes me feel, when I read his stuff. Delighted.
Thanks fer postin it....

You are a dear... dear, hest...

I made myself laugh when I wrote it so i'm happy I made you laugh when you read it!

Thurber? Oh he makes me feel delighted, too! I laugh so hard at his writings and cartoons! I'd give up my sense of humor for such talent! No wait! I'd never give up my sense of humor! I'll just have to accept what little talent I hope to one day have. ;)

Thanks for laughing with me, sweet lady.

brilliant, but I wasn't laughing
just a guy thing
I was still reeling from this one

My pen is an enemy.
I am a war on a blank page.
just my gut feeling
