Too many leaves—dark relieves them

Post by joel » December 3rd, 2005, 4:11 pm

Too many leaves—
dark relieves them,
leaves them threadbare
and nowhere seen.
Care leaves likewise
and surprises
wise and foolish
likewise. Care and
hand-in-hand leaves,
planned aimlessly:
what could be so
freely evolved
as revolved life—
involved or not,
what else is caught
up in distraught
approaches to
life, than to cling
to care like leaves?
Love believes (as
thieves stake justice
in Robin Hood)
truth and good might
could stake justice
as fragile much
as when such great
love must wait for
fate’s full course like
branches for the leaves
who naturally
belong attached
to cycle back,
return again—
arms’ empty boughs
care allows take
vows for love’s leaves.

"...care allows take vows for love's leaves"........

Like listening to the leaves.......
As if they could talk.......!

Reading this makes me believe they can.....

Leaves
they speak beneath your feet as you walk acrross the lawn. December voices

they speak in skittering voices as the wind rakes them across the parking lot.

they sigh to the ground in gentle motion

if not for the live oak trees

I could never make it.
