There is little outside the light of the candle.
A light that decreases, wax sighing and sizzling.
An apple on the table which cannot be seen is
not there; nor the keys by the phone, the edge
of light a diminishing pool, closing up. Tear
the heavy muslin down from the windows. It's
clotting the light of cars.

Hi M
I just finished a writing class where we had to stare at a burning candle and write down our impressions. This could have been an 'A' piece in that class.
Well done

Light the candle, the dark room but no sizzle, no sigh, TV on, room is not that dark, but dark enough that I can see the shadows move as the flame flickered. No breath I have to stop
take three breaths and listen before I start the practice of not objectify sensora data. It all seemed so easy, like watching a movie about a dark room, and some one in the movie lights one lousy candle and the whole got darned room lights up with 1000 watt lamps. Kind of like that, the light changed, a little brighter, you mean all that stuff, the piles of books, the tables, the candle, the frogs, the dancers in tutoos on TV, a woman's face.
