Hysterical Paralysis

Post by ~K » February 14th, 2006, 7:33 am

I'm as broken as they come and
you are just as dumb.
Everyday we forgive each other
for being so unable,
so caught up.
A pause,
for all we're worth,
a very very
long pause...
polished senseless,
proves how good we are at waiting,
and disguising it as living.
But if this is a waste of time,
we must find a new way
to measure it.
You make it
so bearable,
it hurts
to move.

i love the beginning--the first two lines set deep within me. by the end, i'm lost. not a bad lost or a good lost, but a real lost.

The first two lines are kickass... i agree, Joel.

Wish I wrote 'em. ;)

The rest sounds like 2 people who are spinning their wheels talking about all the endless possibilities of a relationship, but never actually doing anything about it.

Did I get it right, ~K?

The end is a little tricky - "You make it so bearable, it hurts to move"

Sorta sounds contradictory.

joel~ Thank you. - A real lost - seems like a pretty pure interpretation to me.

doreen~ Hey! :) I think you summed things up pretty well. As for contradictions, If I am comfortable is it still a cage?

stilltrucking~ You wound me sir. You deleted your post, what am I to think? Have I offended you?

where are all your posts?
you should have 48 posts
but they can't be found
they are gone
as if you never made them.

the last post of mine to you was hacked, somebody edited it. They added an obscenity to it. I suppose I just wanted to leave you be.

Have I offended you?
No ~K it is a very lovely poem, my post was inane I thought, DP and joel pretty much said it all.

Here is what it looked like to the best of my memory
proves how good we are at waiting,
and disguising it as living.
For some reason that reminded me of a line from a sci-fi novel.

"being dead in virtual space is just as dead as being dead in reality. Because you are just as dead as you think you are." (quoted from memory)

I have not seen CP for a while, I hope she is well.

Ok

Douglas Adams Mostly Harmless

A very dark comedy. As if he was tired of the Hitch Hikers series and wanted to finish it.
Don't make me ask you again to not delete your posts!
Doreen as said the same thing to me.

I sure would like to be low maintenance around here but as long as there is a little X up in the corner of the post next to the edit button I feel it is my right to delete a post. The way to keep me from deleting a post is to reply to it. Once a post is replied to the X is gone. You can’t delete it. I do a lot of spontaneous posts, open text box and let it rip. I will edit a post after it has been posted but I do it to protect the innocent.

So I can’t promise you I will not delete a post to you. What I can promise is that I will not reply to anymore of your poems as lovely as they are. I will sit on my hands and enjoy them. Now that I think of it, I deleted two posts to you, the first one was
!!!
I should have left it. At that

added later

DP I quoted you wrong, I am sorry. You never ordered me or demanded that I not delete posts, you simply requested that you wished I not delete them.

~K lets out an exasperated sigh...& just why is it you will not respond to my so called lovely poems? HMMMM? Maybe you are too clearly reminded of the resteraunt at the end of the universe & realize all is for naught?

"Is there no great love, only tenderness?
Does the sea

Remember the walker upon it?
Meaning leaks from the molecules"

How many roads must a man walk down.?
How much is six times seven?

Oh.
Now I under stand
you are looking for meaning.

I will not delete tinkerjack,

~ a tip of my hat to tinkerjack ~

"I will always read your poetry, it is very beautiful. I almost feel you are writting to me. I suppose a poet can not do any better than that."

Did you really think I did not need to hear that?
Now I can check that off
because it was my plan all along,
& now there is one less thing I need
to scream in your ears.

And This is Why...

Post by muted » February 19th, 2006, 12:17 pm

Too beautiful;
Your blushed cheeks,
the hushed gaze
that beckons me
to walk the edge
of forever’s seam,
knowing this dream,
this exact moment,
is defined by
blinks of eye
and the misconception
that dreams come true,
Only
for those who wait.

"you make it so bearable
it hurts to move".......

This is an incredibly good poem `k`. The last lines, a near perfect and finely crafted summation.
Shout it from the rooftops.
wow..!
and right on.
now do something about it.
move anyway......
all of us....

Broken and numb sounds like a match made in heaven. Bolt action word play that hits its mark, now I understand your comment on my poem, keep shooting dear. "C"
