under heavens deep and open,
underneath and not above me—
free and full celestial movement,

liberated benediction.
There I heard it: benediction.
There I heard the night voice lyric
(thick and grave as midday brightness)

bless my love with new perspective;
earth roof, star floor: true perspective
shifted, gifted. Love as always.
“Raise your eyes; your feet are grounded.”

I had never seen my feet there
grounded on the earthen sky there,
never seen my love as blessed
tread upon a sky of journey—

benediction: cross the heaven
floors beneath me with the heaven
earth above me. Feet above me—
free and full celestial movement,

feet above celestial movement,
love as you, celestial movement.
“Raise your eyes; your feet are grounded,”
sounded sweet voice benediction—

sounded sweet as faith, as reason.
There I heard it: gentle reason
love to journey, you discovered—
songbirds winged on benediction.
