twisting

Post by ALundwall » May 7th, 2006, 12:34 pm

pretty once before the dust fell through space
it felt mysteriously beautiful for a time
to inhabit another body you told me to do
as i pleased and please would i of course
approached with trembling milk fingers
feeling strangely something else
pink leaf flying over a plateau
swallowing sequined sounds
drowning intoxicantly spiraled
to fiery fires frantically smoky zither
sounding we two human figures
twisting rising stars on the wall

I can't get the emphasis
of pretty
out of my obsessions,
and the rest of the vocabulary flows on
trying to figure
out what is so pretty
and by the time I look up
and catch up
and freeze up I think
I might know but I'm still
hung up
on pretty.
