road trip

Post by Doreen Peri » May 17th, 2006, 11:13 pm

gonna take a road trip to a new destination,
soil never had it so good, my soles ready to trod
thank god though i am fashioning imaginary pitfalls
from my repetoire of excuses... loose is my mantra,
to have done rather than to do and i am following you
all back to the beginning of recognition where you had
the lead and where your truths superceded my eventuality,
lo and behold, i've got government reimbursement checks,
decks of cards having been played out, slow moving drains
never the same, each clog indifferent, ready to spend an opening
announcement for the what's to do but to do it now event, yanno?
and so, i'm gonna take a train ride to the other side of wonder,
announce my existence at the elbow of an inperceptable snag,
wag my tail, wail like a female dog in heat, complete the sentence
with a comma, curtail it with a dash, make rash conclusions based
solely on how many semicoloned phrases i can unite; until i win the
fight; to get back to the basics of forgiveness... YES!
i need to get back to forgiving myself for i know not
what i do and i am indebted to you
because you are me
and i am i and all the while we try to be whatever it is we have
to be to make us valid ... and I am revising my to do list every moment,
gathering momentum from the lack of ability i have to show, intermittently
accepting the possibilities that the organization may never make sense in
any past or future tense, gathering my tiles together to try to spell myself
in numerous ways, trading nouns and pronouns to make better points,
competing with the jointcollection of me which i have assembled on a rack,
trying to keep track while negligently dismissing my viable assets....
lack of praise ordained
from the priestess i never was

AMEN

Thanks, judih! I don't know when I wrote this. I found it in my files last night. It's not a recent writing. I don't know where I was headed at the time I wrote it. I wonder if I ever got there. :)

A road trip through the mind to discover one's self. I think you saw and found what you were looking for. Loved it and its complexity, really went into detail with this release of thought. So good to read you again my friend, finally got caught up enough to come and say hi. "C"

Well darn the reply didn't go through and it was rather extensive. Anyway I'll just say this took me for a trip many years back. Something I really related to.

love lots

wherever it got you, i hope it lived up to the divine experience it promises to be in the perhaps past tense now. i wonder what the walls thought when i raised to my feet and responded to the just-under-the-radar cry of "can i get an amen?"

I do so love a road trip, especially with destinations unplanned. So thoughtful of you to take us along. You do know how to travel the light fantastic.
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

I appreciate your poetry very much,
The utopia’s great. You’re re-inventing the wheel. You’re this Outrider, whatever one may define that to be—taking a vow to poetry. It’s the best cult in town.

Your road trip seems to be coming along just fine.
Don't forget your Scrabble board, and that you can always "pass" or trade in your tiles...lol
