foot-steps

Post by bethany » July 7th, 2006, 11:24 pm

this is more of a story... but anyways
I got bored one day.....

Where are you tonight?
I lie on the grass and asked this question.
I close my eyes,
and see your face in detail.
I want you here beside me,
instead of in my head.

I hear footsteps
on the sidewalk behind me.
My hopes raise and I turn my head.

But instead, it's an elderly couple,
holding hands, and laughing.
I smile.
They wave.

I hope that can be us,
in about 50 years.
I give up on looking behind me.

I hear more footsteps,
Guessing it's a woman jogging,
from the sound
of rapidly, but steady footsteps.

I still lie there, waiting for everything to happen.
For anything.
I hear a yell, mixed with laughing.
the woman had been tackled by a man,
hugging her, then purposed.
She starting crying, and said yes.

I lay back down.
hearing more foot steps,
I close my eyes,
Whispering to myself.
"star light, star bright..."

Someone grabs my hand,
and I jump.
With my eyes still close, i get a hug
"what were you wishing for?"
it's him.
i say softly...
"what's it matter? It came true."
It was the dance that lasted a lifetime, but ended in an eye-blink.

lol you got bored one day. If bordom brings about writing that would explain why I have so much saved up. It is not bordom my dear, it is the muse speaking to you. Oh just wait to you have experienced more of life, the muse will have so much to say to you if you just listen. Capture every word, do not let one slip by.

love lots
