Crutch (a waltz)

Post by mnaz » July 18th, 2006, 11:11 am

Passed out on rations,
of high-proof salvation.
Oh Lord how the fumes,
they put me right.

I had my reasons,
to come with my season.
Oh Lord how I blow,
and light up the night.

I went to town to see Justice,
and found a small handwritten note....
it said she'll be out until payday,
just try to keep it a-float.

I took no solace,
in watching Mike Wallace.
Oh Lord, please save me
from doing what is right.

I found an answer,
to stop the world's cancer.
Oh Lord let me run,
to the liquor store,

to-night..

(yeah, sorry about that)

Its got a beat I can dance to.
"Oh lord save us from the improvers of mankind." nietzsche paraphrased

"miller on the left, jack daniels on the right" I will make through the got dam night" I heard it in a song but can't remember which one or by who.

I am sorry about that too, sorry I can't put it down the way you do.

keep on keeping on
and thank you for a little shelter from the storm.

I take your hand
& we spin along
the edge that
keeps us coming back

to a dream that we
once had
when we were

influenced

by a plan
we never
sanctioned
that still
unfolds
around us

regardless

A first-rate hellfighter's ballad, mnaz.

Tiny nuances of the Fugs's, "River of Shit" . . . ( "Wide, Wide River)
. . .and another 1000 years of "the flapjacks of sorrow" . . . viz--Lebanon . . .

(link to lyrics)

I nearly wore that vinyl record out in my tiny apartment with my oil paints, my ink and quill pens and cheap paper and my refrigerator with nothing but five left in a six pack of Dos Equis . . .

(now I'm older, wiser and slower . . .)

It's nothin', really.

Sometimes you just wake up with a waltz in your head,
and a little whiskey and war in your cornflakes....

.... but of course, I have it easy, compared to so many....

"It's nothin', really."

it goes down easy
like friendly fire
or lightning

it strikes
without
warning

sometimes it goes down
a little too easy,
like fire in the belly.
