War

Post by ~K » August 4th, 2006, 7:35 am

I cannot be confined
to one perspective

I must explore the minefield

I must watch
my limbs
fly free
of this
dirt
beneath my feet

I will
so
I am

confetti

a party
of projectiles

a random
pattern
scattered
across
the field
of white flags
stained red

That meanss more to me then anything I have read in the NY Times this week.

I wish I could find the words to express my admiration for that poem.
Gracias

Very well expressed, V. And you speak for many of us, do not doubt it. This goes well with the fire in the belly piece I just read. Enough is enough is enough. Silence is collusion.

The 'random', I get.
All good field generals understand that..

War is a binary blip...
One-zero-zero-one-zero...
and you're fused into the cube.
The generals say it's better now,
like laser-guided surgery.
do some pushups, punch the coordinates,
and bad economies are shattered,
on-screen.
and it's over there,
so it doesn't exist.
and they don't exist. not really.

War is jet fuel and electronics anymore.
No cause for alarm.
I was going to state the obvious,
that war is a drug,
but I won't.

~K - I know I don't have a good grasp on anything, don't want to strangle the life out of it with the tighness of my grip. Your words sounded so internal. It may just be that I'm reminded of my own land mines when I read your words and all the white flags now red. Whether I get it or not I love your work.
