Five-star iron-jawbone on the radio tonight.
immovable object and pure sandpaper grit.
says we should protect the people,
'tho we never asked.
Lips move, on-screen,
and flags, that beautiful flag,
half-ripped in wounded ambition
and words that wanted something.
I can't listen with the volume up,
on account of ambition and appetite.
from haditha to hamburger hill,
it was never supposed to happen that way.
regret (and reload)
Something about the general's speech. He made warfare sound so.... well.... so cutting edge, so cleansing to the world.... He said Westmoreland had it wrong.... that "we" must protect the people. But who protects the people from "us"?
And I cannot listen to another word uttered by Bush. I just can't.
