Not of My Making

Post by Ann Bingham » October 27th, 2006, 8:08 pm

NOT OF MY MAKING

memory
fleeting
floating away
like deleted files

files that cannot
be found again.

the recycling bin
empty

always empty

a regular habit
her emotions
emptied
with the trash

yesterdays news
found a day late

express yourself

a shattered glass

don't repress

step upon
shards
to feel

grind
slivers
into her

bleed her

her demise
believing
there is
tomorrow

her sin
not believing
today

the moment
lost
all is lost
living in the fog
that is you.

well... it seems to me, that

the moment lost, may not be the same as all is lost.

but then, i've been fooled before.

if the moment is lost
all is lost
if there is no present
how could there be a future?
all I can do is smoke another cigarette.
and lose another moment

only women bleed they say.
I found out different

thans deb
your poem means a lot to me
even if I can not tell you why.
