Of love, qua import inescapable

Post by joel » December 5th, 2006, 6:46 pm

Of love, qua import inescapable,
qua homo capax, I am capable.

Of love, qua import inescapable,
I discipline my simple ecstasies
for omnipresent clarity, precise
and flabbergasted— love that love involves
in self-reflexive explanation, love
perhaps that love alone self-validates.
I have to love you. Love for love’s own sake
theosis spurs; and holinesses break
in hopes of freedoms fearfulness abates—
if I am human true, I have to love
you ever simply, fully. Love absolves
all dread of lovelessness; love ought suffice
to pledge, for love in all its mysteries,
qua homo capax, I am capable.
