St Luke 22:48

Post by joel » April 12th, 2007, 7:23 pm

St Luke 22:48—“And Jesus said to him, 'Judah, by a kiss are you handing over the son of humanity?'”

A man, I kissed a man— and mine, the sole
and only mouth to ever kiss his face.
In public did I kiss— and flauntingly,
in front of countless would-be lovers who
perhaps would better lovers be for him,
but I kissed first. And yes, he kissed me back.
Forgive me, Love, that I exposed you— out
before a world that loved but knew you not.
I’d planned that impulse kiss; I’d take it back.
I thought it holy, kissed you on a whim
of lovely zeal— I loved you, hoped you knew
I couldn’t help myself— but dauntingly
I’ve come to realize the damned disgrace
I brought on you: one kissed and murdered soul.

I am wondering why I was smiling after I read that?
