I don't need you

Post by joel » May 29th, 2007, 1:28 pm

This work is too addressed to you, too much
or also left to your analysis,
but any ergonomic exercise
I undertake is yours—and yours because
admittedly I so declare and not
because you’ve wanted, yours though nonetheless.
My choice to give ignores democracy;
my choice to love you fully roots in me
and I produce its fruits as gift. I guess
you know that. I don’t need to say it, but
I want to give you this, my love—which does
necessitate it being said. Despise
me if you’d rather—still I’d love and this
I’ll pledge: my work, my love, is yours as such.
