radio inspired

My heart’s an incandescent bulb and burns
a bright familiarity— a lamp
and lights a yellow glow, a golden stamp
to post a sentry’s watch— and on it turns
immediate— the switch is up and spurns
the void sensational: electric champion
of love, it pulses amp on amp—
a filament alive— and yet it yearns
for something more of modern currency,
for something green and economical—
my heart’s a burned-out, old-world reverie,
a comfort food who’s lost the practical
disguise of free and endless energy
and longs new lovelights less tyrannical.
"Every genuinely religious person is a heretic, and therefore a revolutionary" -- GBShaw
