since I commented on this poem on another site, I won't be redundant, just wanted to say I enjoyed the discussion here and
to add, "on the ropes", is boxing terminology for when a fighter has been knocked for a loop with only the ropes to hold him up, or a
a boxer that cannot back up any further and is taking a severe pounding against the ropes......more or less......peace....steve
