Vacationing in Detroit

Post by mnaz » July 21st, 2008, 9:44 pm

Carburetor's gunked up.
Sludge keeps on sludging.
Wires are kinked and cracked.
Everything's caked in lousy Detroit.
Rust belt is frozen, pistons deep red.
I can't even turn the key in this state.
I remember when they designed cars.
I mean, really designed cars.
With tail fins and curves.

'55 Buick
back seat like a baseball park
two tone
yellow over white
round fins and fake header holes
she was a beauty in her day

My grandpa Pete had a yard full of Detroit-- a Chevy man.

He had a '53 up on blocks next to the shed-- rounded fins. Fins hadn't quite come into their own in '53. Ahh, but that '57 Nomad wagon.. a different story. His pride and joy. Major fins. Man that was a great car. I wonder what ever happened to it?
