Tongue of the Hydra

Post by Lightning Rod » August 8th, 2008, 8:28 pm

If I had seven tongues
I could say I love you
and lick you in six places
at once nonstop lingual septapuss
puppet of desire
balancing a ball on my nose

tangled treasure
like something stolen

tumbled opals and agates
in twisted rows

so like me to go in all directions
my chakras throwing sparks
looking for the ground
in desperate arcs
hungry for the earth

it would take seven tongues to tickle your chakras
lightning finds certain people
and strikes them again and again
something to do with a rare
unfathomable cosmic magnetism
or else god just hates them

when three dimensions collapse to two
and geometry won't get you though
shadows on terra, take a pyramid in the ear
everything floats eventually, lose your fear.

no twin is an island
joined by something
that you cannot see
something under the surf

the marriage of a line to canvass
or a note to the air trident
ribs suspended, erections suggested
the bride knows better
it's the bridegroom who's beguiled
the vixen knows where the whole is
her gown is white only broken by red
wanton breasts inscribed
a line
a line

the quick skinned sediment of shadows
time exposure silhouette
a cavern in a cowboy hat
experienced in sagebrush

Rocks and foam
the crab's home
sand and grit
and the helluvit
is that crabs walk sideways

home is always the ocean
like a relic
overwhelmed in surf
negligent of tears
and foam exhausting acoustic
latent vandalism of surf and sound
an orgasm is thundering in the distance

the wind needs no resistance
that's why a flute is hollow
nothing to bang against
like drilling a well through
loam and sand
easy as moisture
giving and fecund as the earth

electricity holds like magnetism
copper coils and inert gasses
conductivity is two tongues
storms of flesh and electrons

"mythology trumps science."
said the hydra tongue
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

There is much here,
six ways to Sunday and Monday,
and shadows on terra
and 'quick skinned sediment of shadows'.
This one gets up on a plane, water-skis,
flips effortlessly over the curved ramps,
and floating..
Damn, I gotta come back.

Well, I just wanted to come by
and wish you wow.
sincerely,
m nazz.

thanks mark, I might have to beat this one up a little more before it's done
but I guess we are forever dealing in rough drafts
