God In the Closet

Post by Lightning Rod » August 14th, 2008, 12:54 pm

Sometimes I imagine that there is a God
I don't believe it but I have a great imagination

the main thing about the God I imagine is
he has a great wardrobe, a real slick dresser

He can be a pimp or a prince or a palindrome
His closet is deep. He can emerge as a cripple or a ballerina

He has dog suits and doctor duds and even a habit
Likes to wear the tree and the waterfall suit sometimes

When God goes into His closet he might come out
as a rainbow or a tornado or the mona lisa laughing

I need to find out who His tailor is
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

God has been said to have a sense of humor too, though the jokes are a bit complex..

oh, maaaan
he's got a joke suit
a fools suit
a pie-in-the-face suit
a pratfall suit
an 'I don't get it' suit

He's Mr. Comedy alright
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

God has a better sense of humor than I do.
Otherwise, we're a lot alike.

I'm real disappointed I haven't learned how to play bass guitar by now..

That "in the own image" thing...
That goes both ways, doesn't it?
God-Man / Man-God. No God no Man. No Man no God.
Seems a pretty straightforward riff..

This girl playing with Jeff Beck is 16 years old. (old enough for the Olympics)

Even God can't dress up like a palindrome.

A palindrome is a word or phrase that reads the same backward as forward.

Other than that, cool piece.

doreen, don't fuck with my idea of God

sure He can be a palindrome

"I am the Alpha and the Omega"

what He didn't tell you was that He's also the Omega and the Alpha

you should see him in his limerick outfit

"I'll let you believe in your God if I can believe in mine."
I said that
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

I love this piece. It's boss.

God has multiple personalities.
They all answer to the same name.

Peace,
Barry
