Hive! (1st in a children's series about cats)

Post by Doreen Peri » August 11th, 2008, 12:28 pm

Beulah was a brazen belle of a kit.
The beauty was scared of none of it.
She'd stalk her prey the exact same way
a soldier sneaks up on his capture.
Full of herself, complete with the wealth
of a feline in full feline rapture!

Beulah thought she was smart, not dumb.
One afternoon on the 4th of June,
she proceeded to follow a hum!

What was it?, she wondered. What was it?, she asked,
then snuck up behind it 'cause that was her task
and YOWCH! poor Beulah got a big surprise!
You should have seen the size of her eyes
when the big queen bee who she couldn't see
stung her on the bum!

Man you should have seen Beulah run!
Mouth full of hive, I'm surprised she's alive.
She thought she was smart, but was dumb!

the preferred silence shared
between the beautiful

is the question
as to whether

poetry is actually a democratic
process
and of course it isn't

it is delightfully acceptably
without repose

of great interest
in

stately affairs

and for thus i have said
liberty and expression
becomes
a free democratic principle

Thanks judih. Terri and I think it's a good idea. She's a very talented illustrator! Maybe one day a book, if we can move forward with it.
