Sigh

Post by izeveryboyin » August 28th, 2008, 5:04 pm

I think that why it hurts to sigh is cuz I sigh a lot
I think that why it hurts to sigh is cuz my lung was shot
I hope that why it hurts to think is not because of you
I hope that why it hurts to think is cuz I'm overdue...
For a long and faithful bout of silence
Not brought on by unfounded violence,
But by a vow to learn by observation
By using pictures, & categorization.
I know that why it hurts to read is cuz I try too hard.
I know that when it hurts to read I must be on my guard
For people with fierce knives and guns, old weaponry and stuff
That make me think when it hurts to sigh, its cuz I've had enough,
I think I'm much too old to cry, and much to young to speak
I think that why it hurts to sigh is cuz I'm just plain weak.
sometimes I just like to breathe.

I have my moments. I certainly don't think this was one of them, but if you think so, I wouldn't want to ruin that for you. :D

I don't think I've ever seen you do end rhyme like that. I was impressed because it didn't sound forced.... came across naturally. I could hear it in my head as a spoken word piece.

I have lots of poems that end like that... uhm, I think. Maybe I just don't know what end rhyme means.

It means the ending word in the line rhymes with the ending word in the next line ... or could be every other line or some other pattern, but it means the end words rhyme like lot-shot, you-overdue, silence-violence).

It's been a long time since I've read you, I guess... and I do remember some rhymes but not poems that had end rhyme all the way through.

I just looked here
http://www.studioeight.tv/writers/kayla ... scott.html

and I do see one poem where you used end rhyme like this but not exactly the same throughout as you did with this one. It varied.

Anyway, would make a good spoken word piece, as I said.

Post some more! :)

How's Myla doing? walking yet? how old is she now? Thought I read you wrote that she's talking some already, did I read it right? (we don't have to talk about it on your poem thread if you don't want... up to you.. just thinking of you and the baby)

Walking, saying a few words ("cat" and of course "no" being her favorites). She just had her 1st birthday this past Friday. We took her to the Build-a-bear workshop (don't know if you have one of those out there but it's a shop where you can choose th "skin" of your bear and watch it being stuffed in front of you and then buy it clothes, give it a name and take it home in a special box with a birth certificate.). Anyway it was the cutest b-day party and she had a lot of fun. It is so hard to believe that she is 1 already! Seems like just yesterday I was saying the 1st Studio Eight baby had arrived. Now she's walking, talking and generally being a miniature nuisance... all while being extremely cute. LOL.

consider her kissed! And no we don't call her junior. She responds to the names "Myla" "No!" and "Don't touch that!". LOL

my daughter's first word was 'hot'

she said it when she stuck her finger in the candle

showed perfect understanding

sure, I wanted the first word to be 'daddy' or 'papa'

but I was happy with 'hot'

They do! They really do! Next thing I know she'll be asking for a sip of my mimosa while simultaneously telling me I have ruined her life. I cannot say the coming of the teen years excite me at all.
