Joseph Campbell
True dat. The "defense" industry is outta control. Saddam, Rumsfeld, Cheney.. what's the diff? Unchecked mercenary mega-capital run amok. But religion can be the wedge, subtle at times, a tool used by Big Agenda to get all the peeeples in line, to paint the threat of others as endemic to their religion, or anoint themselves as "chosen" to lead some new strain of (very profitable) manifest destiny. Campbell sez, "Yeah, well fuk that". Good call.
Is that for reals? Hadn't heardo'it. Yeah, right they didnt know its a polit. statement!Speaking of star wars when the Saudi Prince or King visited Buckingham palace about a month ago the British Military band started playing Darth Vader’s theme song I forget what it is called, The Evil Empire National Anthem? According to the BBC they just liked the tune; the band was not making a political statement.
I don't think 'Therefore, I am.' Therefore, I am.

True
I googled
star wars theme saudi king buckingham palace
I got 21,000 hits
picked one at random
Campbell really liked those Star wars movies, he saw George Lucas as a myth maker. But I don't think Joe was a nude age fruit cake. I think he was a wise man. But you know I wish he could have given me a metaphor to work with for the holocaust. Many books I have lost, one that bugs me was about the Jews and their historical religion compared to the Greeks and their historical science. There is a fundamental difference between how the Hebrews concieved of time and how the Greeks did.
Flying Saucers: A Modern Myth C.G. Jung
NoThing to do with anything, I just like this song. My kind of aliens.
Planet Queen
"Well it's all right
Love is what you want
Flying saucer take me away
Give me your daughter" T-Rex
I knew I guy that killed himself, he told me ailiens were after him trying to make him change his chromosomes or they would make him kill himself.
I think I would have at least tried to change mine. May he rest in peace, a talented artist and a med student. I wish I could have been more help to him. I have been on suicide watch ever since.
Sorry about the ramble mnaz,
via KEYNOTERKing Abdullah of Saudi is greeted by a rendition of the Darth Vadar "Imperial March" tune. I thought that maybe, the tune is a classical one that was merely used for the Star Wars film. Well no it isn't - it was written by John Williams specifically for the Star Wars score! British sense of humour? Practical joke?..

Sorry about the ramble mnaz,
is that from Cambell's? if so, it is best to side with the Hebrews; science kills.the Jews and their historical religion compared to the Greeks and their historical science. There is a fundamental difference between how the Hebrews concieved of time and how the Greeks did.
Lucass is indeed a culturall imp-erialyst. Star Wars is myth for dummies. mass marketed hocus-pocus religion The Force incarnated in sci-fi form.
I don't think 'Therefore, I am.' Therefore, I am.
Myth writers (and fans) are too nice. Lucas is Disney, more or less. Campbell not quite as pop, but close. Even something like Macbeth rather more real--and terrifying. Good guys lose. The heroes are typical scumbags too. The Minotaur kicks Perseus's ass. Circe turns soldiers into swine, etc. But Ho-wood usually can't deal with that, except in some kitchy way like Tarentino.
in our Circus World, the soldiers are always-already swine.
Lucas at least saw the Evil Empire, but Reagan placed it Elsewhere, Freudian denial reaction formation. Takes Rage Against tha Mashin' to replace it back to the origine. Lucass too commercial though.
Stole from Kurasawa, from Shakesbier.
Holywood sucks because it rules. Rules b/c it sucks. Such is tha Markit.
Amer-ICAN Imp-ire is the Access of Eve-all.
