Besides, what was the subject of the original thread? Jesus... or more to the point, one interpretation of his body of teaching... Jesus can't save the world. That's ultimately up to us. And we dump too many of our own neurotic, apocalyptic religious projections on him, in general. That's evident by the number of emotion-jammed, often virulent responses one gets whenever one posts anything remotely thought-provoking involving Jesus. The man gets a bad rap (as he is largely ignored). I've even gone so far as to write a poem stating flat out that "I hate Jesus", written from inverted perspective, intended as a criticism of self-proclaimed Christian war-mongers. I just did not like the way he said "this is not the talent night" or what ever he said... there is no question that he is edugucated and has a high IQ--but that does not make him right about everything. anyway I aM a prick too and enjoy reading the insults that he throughs out.
