not so anxious
heat waves in these lands
only wants you to get to the next storm
not matter the calendar
you just can´t think too much beyond that haha...

jammed til 2 am
ate, drank and Sang
nothing more tribal
on this here planet
and you can feel the molecular structure
altering, like a tune-up
on the car by your guru mechanic
everything humming like
a boy kicking a can down the road
daughter, son, friends
in a circle, Dakini on the Djembe drum
just the right touch.. you know
so many novice drummers think you beat them
but truth be told you pull the notes out of them
and so it went, notes from strings and skins
swirling in a tiny room where nothing was lost to the night
and did I mention the voices
a wild blend of chords softened by home-brew and wine
the harmonics like Tennessee whiskey
hour upon hour, til we ran out of chi
and today I will hike...we've had a warming
it's up to 22 degrees
22 degrees of separation
from couch to forest to stream
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

we´ll jam with Steve
with some hours of difference
two guitars & an ukelele
many voices always willing
(we had also a cajón peruano & a new family baby at Christmas
but they migrate to another place today!)
from Charly García to Soda Stéreo, from Pink Floyd to the Beatles & the Stones
we have some possible intergenerational ground...

Fifteen degrees this morning out here in the sticks outside Chattanooga.
We took down the Christmas tree & packed it all in. Took the Christmas wreath off
the front door & packed it in to. (Both were artificial...) But the holiday was authentic! 8)

Oh, falderol, it's that end of the year again & nonsense is roosting in the trees--
Crows are cawing, & the sausage is thawing, time is headed down the line,
2017 is about to bite the dust & we look forward to 2018...People died & were born,
Death is frozen on a half-shell, ring bell, as Father Time hobbles by, soon to give way
To baby new year 2018. Soon we'll watch the ball drop & pig out on snacks,
Sing our auld lang syne, & drink fizzy grape juice 'cause we no longer drink wine...
There's enough intoxication from the coffee & adrenalin (sic) going on in our little part
of the world. Another year above ground, & kicking those cans down the street...hoo hah!
God bless us every one! :) :)

... Good Morning JAMerica!
comin to you live from the
Center of the Cosmic Dial,
90 thousand jigawatts of pure
J - Funk power comin' at ya,
'cause the secret of funk is to
Pay Attention, as Brother George
(Clinton) wrote in the Book of Jam,
Chapter One, In the Beginning was
Jam, and the word was with Jam,
and so it went forth...

(well it's still morning here at least...)

I got the platters that matter,
another year, another weekend,
Cats and kittens and wooly mittens,
a few of my favorite things, the hills
are alive with the sound of jam a Jam
for me, the road that lives in Roam..

8 degrees by the heat of the day
no hikes for us
good day for videos - Ghost Story
so-so rendering of a great book
which I decided to re-read
which I've begun to do
(as Kane napped beside me on the couch)
then tonight
while 2017 steps down
I'll be a-jammin' in the kitchen
makin' chili
listening to audio books
haven't heard Lovecraft's "Dreams in the Witch House" yet
New Year's jam
Damn!
