Adam/greed

Perhaps there isn't evidence concrete,
yet I suspect it wasn't very long
beyond the moment first when Adam breathed
that spark of life divine and animate -
that holy spirit of the Lord - that shaped
that simple earthy mud to be a man
when Adam likely stretched his fingered hand
to rake upon his soul a mass of land
beyond necessity, to spark a plan
for greater glory than his god had draped
around his being: human, intimate
of Love Divine and blest. I'll bet he grieved
his Maker with a quick demand: "Be strong
and prove it; make me more than mere complete."
