You popped me like a flimsy bottle cap

You popped me like a flimsy bottle cap
and snapped me, simply creased, in sufic whirl
of trash-spun dervish dance to trashcan ends
as if my modus operandi had
been naught but just to hold the pressure back
on what you lacked to quench your thirst for love—
you turned me for a laugh-hope party trick
and proved your skill: the aim with which you flick
off love you could have tasted. You remove
my tension place for foam-head taste and crack
inebriated smiles across your lad-
for-lover face— though grace yet condescends
that I don’t have to watch your lips unfurl
around whatever bottle next you tap.
